WELLAN^TM HNBR –Introduction

HNBR is a highly saturated elastomer which is treated by catalytic hydrogenation of nitrile rubber(NBR).Compared with NBR, the molecular 

structure of HNBR contains a small amount or no carbon-carbon double bonds.The HNBR has better thermal oxygen aging, ozone resistance, 

radiation resistance,chemical medium resistance(acid, alkali, methane, refrigerant, hydrogen sulfide) and good dynamicproperties than NBR. 

while maintains the oil resistance and wear resistance of NBR.The HNBR is a special rubber with excellent comprehensive properties, which 

is a national strategic material.

 WELLAN superior line of fully saturated grades with high

heat resistance is suited to seal applications in automotive systems and heavy equipment.

Use WELLAN for:

u  O-rings

u  water pump seals

u  gearbox shaft seals

u  air conditioning system seals

u  fuel system seals for diesel and RME coolant seals

WELLAN grades are especially suitable for applications where cold flex cracking is a problem, as in snowmobile belts.

WELLAN partially hydrogenated grades are the right choice in these dynamic applications.
